🎯 Purpose:

The iR-ETN40P is a compact Ethernet I/O module that combines support for Modbus TCP/IP Server and EtherNet/IP Adapter protocols with powerful high-speed signal processing capabilities. Thanks to its expandable design, it can be easily integrated into automation systems, providing scalability and flexibility in use.
The device integrates into the iR series and provides:

  • 📡 connection of high-speed and standard digital signals,
  • ⚙️ flexible I/O scalability,
  • 🛡️ protection and continuity of automation system operation.

⚙️ Main Technical Specifications:

  • 🔗 Communication interfaces: Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, 10/100 Mbps, up to 8 TCP connections.
  • 🔌 Digital inputs: 24 (20 standard + 4 high-speed up to 20 kHz, PNP sink/source).
  • ⚡ Digital outputs: 16 transistor-type outputs (0.5A/channel, up to 4A total, =24V), isolated.
  • 🛑 Special functions:
    • Stop Output — immediate shutdown of outputs in case of emergency.
    • Pulse Capture — registers pulses shorter than one CPU cycle.
  • 📦 I/O Expansion: up to 16 additional iR modules (+224 inputs, +112 outputs, up to 64 analog channels).

⚡ High-Speed Inputs:

The iR-ETN40P supports 4 high-speed inputs, which can operate in:

  • 🧮 Pulse counter mode — up to 20 kHz (max. 4 channels),
  • ⚙️ A/B phase encoder mode — up to 10 kHz (max. 2 sets).

This feature enables accurate processing of signals from fast-response sensors and encoders.

⚡ High-Speed Outputs:

In addition to standard digital outputs, the iR-ETN40P provides 2 high-speed outputs, supporting:

  • 🔄 pulse output,
  • 📶 PWM (pulse-width modulation),
  • ⚡ stepper motor control in modes:
    • CW/CCW (forward/reverse pulse),
    • Pulse + Direction.

This makes the module suitable for motion control, dosing, synchronization, and other dynamic applications.
